Shop By Brand for Magento 2

HOW IT WORKS

In a nutshell, this extension automates creation of Magento categories for each brand, and filling them with products that have the brand assigned. So basically, you work with Magento attributes, products and categories as usual, and brand categories are created, updated and deleted automatically.

INSTALLATION

Download, copy files to the project directory, run php bin/mana.

GETTING STARTED

Create new "Shop By Brand directory" with the following settings:

Manadev Shop By
  Enable = Yes
  Attribute = Brand
  Template = Template 1
Display Settings
  Display Mode = Static Block Only
Design
  Layout = 1 column

Saving should create child categories too, 1 for each brand, and fill them with matching products. Adding/removing brands and assigning brands to products automatically updates the child categories of the Shop By Brand category.

Brand categories should be available through the frontend top menu immediately.

PRODUCT PAGES

Links to the brand pages should automatically appear on product pages. If you want images instead, upload the images to [brand category] -> Manadev Shop By -> Image fields.

HOME PAGE

In the home CMS page, add the "Shop By Categories" widget. In its configuration set parent category to the "Shop By Brand" category.

INDEXING

If you have lots of brands and products, updating categories on save may take a while. In this case consider running cron and settings all indexers to be updated "By Schedule".
