How To Define ID Of Root Or Other Category
In some cases it is necessary to know store root category name.
For example, root category name can be used in CMS page XMLs when using Shop by Special Price, Catalog Price Rules, New Arrivals, Attribute Option, Bestseller extension. More information can be found in extension user guide.
In order to find store root category or other category ID:
- Go to menu
Catalog-> Manage Categoriesin Magento Admin Panel. - Select root category name which was found in first step or find the needed category in category tree.
ID can be found near category header.
